
Women’s Basketball Hosts Boston University in Home Opener on Wednesday Night

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown women's basketball team will welcome Boston University on Wednesday night for its home opener, following a three-game road stretch to open the 2025-26 campaign.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside of the Pizzitola Sports Center. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Scouting the Bears (1-2)
- The Bears enter Wednesday's contest coming off its first win of the season at UMBC on Sunday, with a final score of 56-54. Before its contest against Brown, UMBC earned its first-ever Power Four win against Virginia.
- Earlier in the week, Brown dropped a close contest 64-65 at Holy Cross.
- First-year guard Charlotte Adams Lopez was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for her strong performances against the Crusaders and Retrievers.
- Adams-Lopez led the team in scoring last week, closing out both contests in double figures (14 points per game). She ranks within the top-25 scorers in the Ivy League at 17th, averaging 10.0 points per game.
- Senior forward Alyssa Moreland (Beverly, Mass./Tilton) posted her second double-double of the season at UMBC, netting 13 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. She first posted double-doubles in Brown's season opener at Belmont with 22 points and 11 rebounds.
- Moreland leads Brown in scoring with 14.7 points per game. She ranks eighth in the Ivy League in scoring. Moreland also leads the team and the conference in rebounding, with an average of 12.0 per game. She currently ranks 10th in the nation in rebounds per game.
- The Bears were selected to finish fifth in the Ivy League Preseason Poll, which was announced by the conference on Oct. 23. Brown received 84 votes in the poll, in comparison to last year's 71.
Scouting the Terriers (2-2)
- In their last time out, the Terriers defeated the newly-DI New Haven Chargers 65-58.
- Against the Chargers, BU shot over 63% from beyond the arc.
- BU previously defeated Northeastern 61-57 on Nov. 11. Prior to that, the Terriers dropped two-straight against Dartmouth (50-52) and Quinnipiac (55-65).
- Anete Adler currently leads the Terriers in scoring, averaging 12.5 points per game. She has shot 47% from the field over the course of four games.
- BU was selected to finish eighth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll after receiving 32 votes. The Terriers are predicted to finish above only Lafayette and American.
- The Terriers added two players in the offseason; Transfer student-athlete Rose Azmoudeh from Austin Peay, and first-year Kate Allard.
History
- The Terriers hold an 11-7 record over the Bears, dating back to 1981.
- In their last meeting in 2018, BU secured a 72-51 win at home.
- The Bears last defeated the Terriers in 2017 (92-68) at home.
- Brown holds a 5-5 record against BU at home.
