Football Heads to Columbia for Final Road Trip of 2025

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown football team will head to New York City for its final road trip of the 2025 season on Saturday as the Bears will take on Columbia.

OPENING KICKOFF

Saturday's matchup will be the 89th all-time game between the two schools.
Three of the last four games between the two have been decided by one possession, while two of the last three have gone to overtime.
Each team defeated Georgetown at home this year (Brown, 46-0; Columbia, 19-10).

PROTECTING THE FOOTBALL

Brown's offense has not lost a fumble all season. The Bears' only lost fumble this season came on a muffed punt against Princeton.
Brown is tied for second in FCS and first in the Ivy League with one lost fumble.
Brown is one of seven teams in FCS with zero or one fumble lost this season.
On the opposite side of the coin, the Bears are tied with Cornell for the Ivy League lead with seven fumble recoveries.

Brown has lost all five games this season when it has turned the ball over the same amount or more than its opponent and won all three games where it has won the turnover battle.

AMONG THE IVY SACK LEADERS

Junior Ike Odimegwu enters this weekend second in the Ivy League with 7.0 sacks this season. Seven of his 16.0 tackles thus far have been sacks.
He made his collegiate debut vs. Georgetown by finishing with 4.0 tackles, including 3.0 sacks.

DEFENSE IMPROVEMENT UNDER MULROONEY

New defensive coordinator Dan Mulrooney's system has helped spur a huge improvement in the Bears' defense in 2025.
Brown is allowing 26.62 points per game this season, nearly seven points fewer than last season.
Brown's 411.9 yards allowed per game is the second-lowest of the Perry era.
Brown ranks third in the Ivy League with 19.0 sacks this season.
The Bears have recovered seven fumbles this season, which is tied for the most in the Ivy League and t-24th in FCS.
Brown is fourth in the Ivy with seven INTs this season.
