Rothrock Excels at Franklin & Marshall Open

LANCASTER, PA - The Bears continued their start to the 2025 portion of their schedule over the weekend as six members of the team competed in the Franklin & Marshall Open.
Keegan Rothrock (165) was the standout performer of the tournament for Brown, going 5-1 before hitting his six match limit for the day. He picked up victories against Makoa Niebel (F&M), Sean Coughlin (George Mason), Carson Miller (Kent State), Holden Garcia (NJRTC), and Joseph Cangro (Unattached).
Alex Semenenko (HWT) and Jacob Joyce (133) both finished in fourth place for their respective brackets. Semenenko defeated Joey Schneck (Maryland), Mason Cover (Cleveland State), Bryson Harrington (Pittsburgh), and Richard Ryu (Columbia). Joyce won matches against Ryan Arbeit (Hofstra), Aden Benavidez (Kent State), Connor Collins (Army), and Spencer Barnhart (Penn).
"I have been pleased with the development of our team - not just the guys that are getting the starting nod at the moment. We will continue to provide them opportunities to compete throughout the remainder of the season so they continue to develop, stay ready, and hopefully build a strong enough resume to make us reconsider who should be getting the starting reps," said Head Coach Jordan Leen.
UP NEXT
The Bears travel to North Carolina to compete in the Davidson Duals on January 17. They are scheduled to go up against Lock Haven, Little Rock, and Davidson.
