Track and Field Competes at Dartmouth Relays

HANOVER, N.H. – The Bears Track and Field team headed north in their first event since winter break to compete at the Dartmouth Relays.
MEN
In the pole vault, sophomore Gabriel Thai finished fourth with a mark of 4.40 meters. First-year Link Lignell was fifth with 4.25 meters.
Sophomore Adeposi Aderogba shined in the long jump, finishing first with a mark of 7 meters. Junior Joseph Oduro also finished first in the triple jump with a mark of 15.24 meters.
Sophomore Karon Johnson was third in the shot put with a throw of 14.31 meters.
Four Bears competed in the men's weight throw, including Keith Daigneau (2nd/18.38m), Ethan Wordell (3rd/16.85m), James Chafouleas (4th/14.45m) and Karon Johnson (7th/13.97m).
Junior Elias Archie finished third in the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.94 seconds. Skyler Hall was second with a time of 6.99 and Trevor Wilder was sixth with 7.02.
In the 200 meter dash, juniors Jason Estrada (3rd/22.47) and Matias Gersberg (9th/23.67) competed.
The 500 meter run featured first-year John Mueller who finished ninth with a time of 1:08.86.
WOMEN
In the high jump, junior Nene Mokonchu finished first with a mark of 1.7 meters. Delaney Seligmann was second with a mark of 1.6 meters and Rosie Volpintesta was third with 1.6 meters.
Two Bears competed in the women's long jump including Rachel Bibiu (2nd/5.29m) and Simone Dunbar (6th/4.93m).
Senior Jada Joseph was prolific in the triple jump, winning with a mark of 12.38 meters.
Four Bears competed in the women's shot put including Michelyn Appiah (1st/13.82m), Nicolette Ducharme (5th/12.18m), Delaney Seligmann (8th/10.58m) and Rosie Volpintesta (12th/9.39m).
Six Bears competed in the women's weight throw including Chidinma Agbasi (1st/19.33m), Jillian Leahy (2nd/16.58m), Michelyn Appiah (3rd/16.4m), Nicolette Ducharme (4th/15.29m), Giana DeCesare (5th/14.64m) and Sophia Gallucci (7th/14.46m).
Junior Kate Scanlan finished first in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.05. Mackenzie Fulgham was third with a time of 26.73. In the 500 meter run, sophomore Anna Pollak was sixth with a time of 1:21.01.
The women's 60 meter hurdles finals featured four Bears runners including Elle Riley (2nd/8.7 seconds), Simone Dunbar (3rd/9.03 seconds), Delaney Seligmann (5th/9.16 seconds) and Maddelynn Brooks (6th/9.17 seconds).

The Bears will return to action next Saturday, Jan. 18 at the URI Invitational.
