The Bears had a strong start against the Terriers, scoring their first goal in only the fourth minute of the game. Lorenzo Amaral earned the Bears' first goal of the night after picking up the ball off of a header from BU's Ryan Lau, and sending it to the back of the net.
Stefano D'Agostini posted his first career goal at 17:28. The Bears were awarded a free kick after the Terriers' Ryan Lau fouled. Lorenzo Amaral took the free kick and D'Agositni headed it into the net to give Brown a 2-0 edge.
The Bears continued to dominate the first half with a third goal. Mads Stistrup Petersen scored his first goal since becoming a Brown Bear. Stistrup Petersen outplayed BU's defense to send a shot sailing by goalkeeper Andrew Wike.
In the 39th minute, Lorenzo Amaral would find the back of the net for the second time. Amaral scored from a free kick due to a Boston University foul. This marked Amaral's second goal of the game, and third point of the night.
With three seconds remaining in the first half, freshman Andre Romo would ultimately seal the deal for Brown. After a corner kick and an attempted save by BU's Andrew Wike, Romo found himself with the ball and an empty net in front of him. Reading the situation, he quickly reacted by sending the ball into the net for the fifth and final goal of the game for the Bears.
It was a multi-point night for Lorenzo Amaral, Mads Stistrup Petersen, and Andre Romo. Each notched one goal and one assist, with Amaral totaling two goals.
With 55 seconds remaining in the regulation, BU's Markus Ramsey was able to score the Terriers' lone goal to avoid being shutout.
After 90 minutes the Bears posted a total of 15 shots with eight landing on target. Boston University posted six shots with only half landing on target. Goalkeeper Henrik Weiper faced only two shots in the opening 45 minutes.
The Bears look to carry this momentum into their next game on Saturday, September 21 against Stonehill.
