Baseball to Host Cornell for Three-Game Series to Round Out Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -The Brown baseball team will return home for its final three games of the 2024 season this weekend as they welcome Cornell to Attanasio Family Field at Murray Stadium.

Saturday's doubleheader will serve as Senior Day, where the team will honor its four-member senior class with a ceremony that will take place between games of the doubleheader. First pitch of game one is set for 11:30 a.m. and will be televised live regionally on NESN+, with a livestream available on ESPN+.

Sunday will be Little League Day with the first pitch set for noon.

SCOUTING BROWN (9-27, 4-14 Ivy)
- Senior starter Paxton Meyers ranks ninth in the Ivy League this season with an overall ERA of 4.97. He also ranks sixth with 54 strikeouts in 58.0 innings.
- Junior outfielder Nathan Brasher leads the Bears with a .321 batting average, nine doubles and 18 stolen bases.
- DJ Dillehay is hitting .303 with a team-leading 27 RBIs is tied for the team lead with four home runs.
- Senior Reece Rappoli is hitting .288 on the season with eight doubles.
- Brown has won eight of the last nine meetings between the two teams dating back to 2019, including a three-game sweep in Ithaca last season.

SCOUTING CORNELL (14-17, 10-8 IVY)
- Cornell enters this weekend in third place in the Ivy League, one game ahead of both Yale and Penn who are tied for fourth.
- The Big Red are seeking their first Ivy postseason appearance since 2012 and can clinch a spot in the upcoming Ivy Tournament under three different scenarios this weekend.
- Cornell took two out of three from Yale two weekends ago before getting swept last weekend by red hot Columbia. Cornell defeated Binghamton 13-7 in a non-league clash this week on the road.
- The Big Red are hitting .281 as a team this season, good for third in the league.
- Junior outfielder John Quinlan ranks second in the Ivy League with a .398 batting average and is fifth with a .469 on-base percentage.
- Freshman catcher Mark Quatrani ranks seventh in the league with nine home runs.
