Weather Forces Schedule Changes to Weekend Baseball Series with Columbia

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Due to the expected inclement weather in Providence this weekend, Brown baseball has made schedule changes for this weekend's series with Columbia. The two teams will now open up their series with a single game on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., and play a doubleheader on Sunday starting at 11:30 a.m. All games will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Game 1: Jack Seppings (2-5, 5.89 ERA) vs. Derek Yoo (3-1, 4.10 ERA)
Game 2: Paxton Meyers (3-2, 4.37 ERA) vs. Joe Sheets (3-3, 5.66 ERA)

SCOUTING BROWN (8-21, 3-9 Ivy)
- Brown will look to snap a five-game skid this weekend, coming off a three-game series at Dartmouth last weekend.
- Four Bears have hitting streaks of at least three games, including Reece Rappoli (4), Mika Petersen (3), Nathan Brasher (3) and DJ Dillehay (3).
- Mark Henshon will carry a 22-game on-base streak into this weekend's action, and Brasher has reached base safely in 14 consecutive games entering this weekend.
- First-year catcher Andrew Hanlon started his career by reaching base in 13 straight games, a streak that ended last weekend at Dartmouth. He is tied for third on the team with 15 total walks over 15 games.
- Gunner Boree (.441) and Brasher (.430) both rank in the top 10 in the Ivy League in overall on-base percentage.
- Outfielder Logan Meusy (.600) leads the Ancient Eight in on-base percentage in league games only. Henshon ranks ninth in league games with a .467 on-base.
- Rappoli ranks 10th in the league with a .364 batting average in Ivy contests.
- Starting pitcher Paxton Meyers ranks fourth overall in the league with a 4.37 ERA and is eighth by holding opponents to a .246 batting average.
- The Bears boast three of the top nine pitchers in strikeouts in the league this season, with Seppings (6th/45), Meyers (7th/43), and Gottam (9th/39).
SCOUTING COLUMBIA (16-14, 9-3 Ivy)
- The Lions lost two out of three at home last weekend to Yale before topping St. John's 11-9 in a midweek road matchup.
- The Lions have scored at least eight runs in each of the last 12 games.
- Columbia holds a league leading .291 batting average this season, which jumps to .303 in league play, trailing only Cornell's .311 league batting average.
- Senior Cole Hage leads the Lions and ranks ninth in Ivy play with a .366 batting average.
- Five Lions ranks in the top 10 in league games in runs scored, led by Hage, Jack Cooper and Anton Lazits with 16 apiece.
- Eric Jeon ranks third in Ivy games with 17 RBIs.
- Sam Miller is tied for second in Ivy play with five homers, one behind Penn's Wyatt Hensler.
- Reliever Will Parkinson holds a league-leading 1.38 ERA in Ivy games while holding opponents to a league-low .152 batting average.
- Starter Joe Sheets ranks second at 1.57. Derek Yoo's 2.59 league ERA ranks fifth.
