COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The upset bid from the Brown Bears (0-5, 0-0 Ivy League) came up short at SECU Stadium as the seventh-ranked Maryland Terrapins (5-1, 0-0 Big Ten) took a 14-13 overtime win on Saturday.
"Another disappointing result and that's on the head coach," said head coach Mike Daly. "I have to find those couple of plays to get our team over the last hump. But I love this team and their compete level. We will continue to fight."
Wells Bligh and Marcus Wertheim tallied the afternoon's first goals in the first four minutes of the game to give the Bears a 2-0 lead before the Terps evened the score with goals from Jack Koras and Owen Murphy halfway through the quarter.
Jack Kelly and Spencer Hughes responded with goals late in the quarter to regain the lead at 4-2. Daniel Maltz found the back of the net twice in the final minutes of the first to tie the game at 4-4 through the opening frame.
Matteo Corsi got on the scoresheet with consecutive goals in the first 2:17 of the second quarter to push Brown's lead to 6-4.

After two Maryland goals to cut the Brown lead to one, Corsi recorded his fourth career hat trick with his third goal of the quarter with 2:13 remaining.
Kevin Sweeney struck for his first of the season just 18 seconds into the third quarter following a faceoff win from Dash Sachs to push Brown's lead to 9-6.
Braden Erksa and Hughes traded goals to push the score to 10-7 before a pair of Maryland goals to close out the quarter made it a one-goal game.
Ryan Siracusa tied the game at 10-10 with 12:35 remaining in the fourth with his second goal of the game.
Maryland took the lead as Erksa tallied his third and fourth goals of the game to take a 12-10 lead with 8:03 remaining.
