
Sailing Places First and Second at BU Team Race

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Brown University sailing teams competed in three different events over the weekend.
The Bears had two teams compete in the BU Team Race at Boston University. The team of Blake Behrens, Sierra Bornheim, Connor Macken, Olivia Miller, Catherine Morrissette, and Mason Stang took first place in the event. The second team of Martin Atilla, Laura Hamilton, Talia Levine, Janelle Li, Sidney Moyer, and Ethan Simpson followed behind, finishing second place out of six teams in the race.
The coed sailing team also competed in the Friis Trophy Team Race at Roger Williams University. Vera Allen, Guthrie Braun, Caroline Keeffe-Jones, Emily Mueller, Connor Nelson, Liam O'Keefe, Camren Spriggs, and Savannah Young represented Brown at the event. The Bears finished the event in a tie for seventh place with Stanford University.
The women's sailing team participated in the Duplin Trophy Race at Harvard University. Charlotte Costikyan, Katharine Doble, Francesca Edmands, Katherine Majette, Katherine McNamara, Brianna Ross, Lily Shore, and Brielle Willoughby finished the regatta in seventh place out of ten teams.
The Brown sailing teams will compete in four events this weekend, including the Dellenbaugh Trophy Race at home.
