Bedell Wins Second Straight Ivy Classic Floor Title

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Junior Julia Bedell successfully defended her Ivy Classic title on floor on Saturday night at the Ivy Classic in Philadelphia. As a team, Brown finished fourth in the battle among the Ivies with Penn (195.800) taking the team title, followed by Yale (195.400) and Cornell (194.625). Brown finished with an all-around score of 193.700.
For Bedell, it is the third Ivy Classic title of her career, following her championships last year on both vault and floor. Overall, Brown had three gymnasts earn four All-Ivy Classic honors, with those finishing in first-to-third earning First Team accolades and those in fourth-through-sixth earning Second Team.

Starting off the meet on beam, Brown scored a 48.200, led by Angela Xing and Lauren Kramer who both scored 9.975, with Kramer's mark tying her career-high. Liza Marcus followed with a 9.750, and Jessica Lin scored a 9.700.
Next on floor, Brown moved up into third place overall with a very strong 49.100, led by Ivy champion Bedell at 9.925, a score that ties her own mark for third in program history. Xing, Maya Davis and Dewar followed by tying for eighth place at 9.800, a mark that tied Dewar's career-high. Kramer tied her career-high with a 9.775.
On vault, the Bears turned in another solid mark of 48.675, led by Dewar and Bedell tying for sixth at 9.775 to earn All-Ivy Classic honors. Xing scored a 9.750, and Kramer added a 9.725.
Rounding out the meet on bars, McKeown led Brown with a 9.750 to tie for sixth place overall and earn Second Team laurels. Davis tied for ninth at 9.700 as Brown posted a team score of 47.925 on the event.
The Bears will compete next on Sunday, March 3 at the Bridgeport quad meet with the host Purple Knights, RIC and Talladega.
