Playoff Hockey Returns to Meehan Auditorium on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Playoff hockey is finally here and the eighth-seeded Brown Bears take on the ninth-seeded RPI Engineers at Meehan Auditorium for the first home postseason game since 2006.

The Bears finished the regular season with an 11-15-3 record and 7-12-3 in the ECAC. It is the winningest season since 2005-06. Brown and RPI split the regular-season series. The Bears won at home over the Engineers, 3-2, on Nov. 10, while RPI took the game in Troy, 2-0, on Jan. 3.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Fans are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets online at BrownBears.com/tickets prior to their arrival at Meehan Auditorium. Fans should either download their digital tickets to display on a mobile device or print them at home prior to arrival.

Scouting the Bears

Sophomore Jade Iginla finished the regular season with a team-leading 16 goals and was tied for third on the team with 10 assists for 26 points.
Sophomore India McDadi was second on the team with nine goals and led the way with 14 assists for 23 points.
The freshman trio of Sam Broz (6-9-15), Ava DeCoste (4-11-15) and Margot Norehad (7-6-13) all have had strong first seasons with the Bears.
Junior Cameron Sikich (0-10-10) and seniors Cassidy Piersiak (3-4-7) and Maya Mangiafico (3-3-6) and the rest of the team will see the first postseason action of their careers.
Senior Kaley Doyle finished the regular season with a 2.21 GAA and .928 SV% in 26 starts this season.

Scouting the Engineers

RPI earned the ninth seed for the tournament with a 13-17-4 record and 5-16-1 in the ECAC.
The Engineers closed the regular season with a 3-3 tie against Princeton at home.
Senior Ellie Kaiser (10-11-21), graduate student Marah Wagner (6-15-21) and freshman Andrea Trnkova (5-16-21) all lea the team with 21 points.
The Engineers have seven more players with 10 or more points.
Grad student Amanda Rampado finished the regular season with a 2.12 GAA and .929 SV% in 31 starts.

Around the ECAC

The opening round of the ECAC Tournament is set.
No. 12 Harvard at No. 5 Quinnipiac.
No. 11 Union at No. 6 Yale.
No. 10 Dartmouth at No. 7 Princeton
No. 9 RPI at No. 8 Brown
No. 1 Colgate, No. 2 Clarkson, No. 3 St. Lawrence and No. 4 Cornell all have byes and will play the winners of the opening round in a three-game series at home.
