PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Brown women's hockey head coach Melanie Ruzzi has announced the addition of Zach Perkins as an assistant coach.
Perkins most recently served as the head women's hockey coach at Anna Maria College, where he led the program to 33 wins over four years, producing the winningest stretch in the program's history. He also guided the program to four straight conference playoff appearances. Perkins developed nationally ranked goaltenders, with goalies ranked seventh and 21st in NCAA Division III save percentage. He also built the No. 1 penalty kill unit in NCAA Division III women's hockey.
While serving as head coach, Perkins was also the assistant athletic director at Anna Maria. In his role, he managed departmental scheduling logistics and intercollegiate contracts across multiple athletic programs and led fundraising initiatives and external engagement events that supported athletic department growth. He also assisted with facility coordination and event management.
Perkins is also the Director of Goaltender Development at Stop-It Goaltending. There, he designs and leads individual and small-group goaltender development programs for youth, junior, and collegiate athletes, including NCAA Division I players.
Prior to his previous roles, Perkins served as an assistant and goaltending coach at Anna Maria, where he coached goaltenders to a .915 team save percentage and assisted with offense, power play, and penalty kill.
Perkins earned his bachelor's degree from Southern New Hampshire University in 2022.
