DANBURY, Conn. – Sophomore Lawton Zacher has been named the ECAC MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week following his 43-save shutout in Brown's 3-0 win over LIU on Sunday.
It marks the second weekly award and third overall for the sophomore netminder. He was named the ECAC Goaltender of the Month in November.
Zacher was perfect against the Sharks with a career-high 43 saves to pick up his second shutout of the season.
On the season, Zacher's .945 save percentage is tied for second in the country alongside Minnesota State's Alex Tracy. Zacher's 1.72 goals against average ranks eighth in the NCAA and his pair of shutouts are tied for seventh-most in the nation.
The Bears return to the ice this weekend at Meehan Auditorium to host the Union Garnet Chargers (9-7-1, 3-3-0 ECAC) on Friday, January 3 before taking on the Rensselaer Engineers (6-9-2, 1-5-0 ECAC) on Saturday, January 4.
