Women's Basketball Opens 2024-25 Season at No. 25/24 Indiana on Monday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.- The Brown women's basketball team will open their 2024-25 season at No. 24/25 Indiana on Monday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
The game will be broadcast live on Big Ten Plus.Â

Scouting the Bears
- Brown will look to earn their first win of the season for the first time since the 2018-2019 season. The Bears opened the 2018-2019 season against Central Connecticut State, posting a 69-63 win over the Blue Devils.
- The Bears will play their fourth season under head coach Monique LeBlanc, and are looking to build off of last season's campaign.
- Brown finished last season with a total of 16 wins, with nine of those wins happening on the road.Â
- The Bears returns nine players from last season, adding more depth to their roster. The team also welcomes three newcomers that will look to make an impact in the lineup.
- Last season Brown ranked second in blocked shots, and third in team defense in the Ivy League. They look to build upon that this season.
- Indiana closed out the 2023-2024 season with a 26-6 record, going undefeated at home (17-0).Â
- The Hoosiers are led by head coach Teri Moren. Moren enters her 11th season as Indiana's head coach.Â
- Indiana looks to replace their top two scorers from last season, Mackenzie Holmes and Sara Scalia. Holmes averaged 19.8 points per game, while Scalia averaged 16.3.Â
- Indiana returns Yarden Garzon, their third highest scorer last season. Garzon averaged 11.7 points per game.
- Chloe Moore-McNeil and Sydney Parrish return for a fifth season. Moore-McNeil ranked third in free throw percentage with .761. Parrish ranked second on the team in rebounds with an average of 6.0 per game.
- The Bears and Hoosiers have only met once before, during the 2000-2001 season. Brown made the trip to Bloomington to battle against Indiana. The Hoosiers earned the win with a final score of 72-63.
- Brown has a 0-1 record against Indiana.
