
Women’s Basketball Suffers Loss to Kent State

BAYAMÓN, Puerto Rico- The Brown women's basketball team suffered a 74-51 loss to the Kent State Golden Flashes in their first contest of the Puerto Rico Clasico on Thursday.
Senior center Gianna Aiello continued to showcase her leadership and strength, leading the Bears with 13 points. Senior guard Bella Mauricio and sophomore guard Olivia Young finished behind Aiello with nine points apiece.
Kent State capitalized on opportunities in the first quarter, racking up 25 points to th Bears' 11.
The Bears netted a total of 29 points ahead of the break, but were topped by Kent State's 42.
Young netted two of Brown's three-pointers. Mauricio, Arnolie, and junior forward Beth Nelson collected the rest of the threes.
The Bears totaled nine steals from Young, junior guard Mackenzie Leahy, Aiello, Arnolie, first year forward Aima Ofunrein, junior guard Mady Calhoun, and first year guard Sela Klein.
Brown trailed in the third and fourth quarters, ultimately leading to their 74-51 downfall.

Brown will take on Colorado State in their second contest of the Puerto Rico Clasico on Saturday, Nov. 30. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
