
Men's Water Polo Reaches NWPC Final with Win Over Harvard

PRINCETON, N.J. – No. 3 seed Brown advanced to the NWPC Final with an 11-9 win over No. 2 seed Harvard on Saturday. It is the first time since 2016 that the Bears have reached the NWPC championship game.
Gabe Chang and Máté Tymcyna led Brown with three goals, while Ramzi Megalli and Ilias Stothart each had two goals. Dimitris Kratimenos finished the game with 10 saves in goal.
The Bears got on the board first with a goal from Megalli but two Harvard goals put the Crimson in front. Chang scored his first goal with 50 seconds left but Brown trailed 3-2 after one quarter. The Bears and Crimson traded goals in the second with Brown's tallies coming from Tymcyna and Stothart. A late goal by Megalli made the score 5-5 at the break.
Brown took the lead midway through the third with Tymcyna's second goal and back-to-back goals from Mac Berry and Tymcyna put brown up 10-8. Brown held a 10-9 lead throughout the fourth quarter but the Bears allowed a penalty shot with 2:39 left. The shot by Harvard went high and Brown responded 19 seconds later with a goal by Stothart to take a lead they would not relinquish.
