PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's ice hockey team (6-5-0, 4-5-0 ECAC) fell 4-1 against No. 6 Clarkson (11-3-1, 4-1-0 ECAC) Friday night.
Ava DeCoste scored the lone goal for the Bears, tallying her sixth of the season.
Both teams skated scoreless through the first period; The Golden Knights struck first as they posted two goals early in the second.
"Clarkson's powerplay is very strong, they put in two on the powerplay which made it really hard for us," said Head Coach Melanie Ruzzi. No. 6 ranked Clarkson's power play ranks second in the country.
With less than a minute to go in the second, DeCoste got the Bears on the board as she tallied a goal from Monique Lyons and Victoria Damiani.
Clarkson Clarkson's fourth goal came at 12:53 in the third period.
Rory Edwards finished the game with 43 saves.
"I'm proud of our team's effort, I'm proud of our maturity, and I'm looking forward to tomorrow, it'll be another really tough battle against a highly ranked team," said Ruzzi.
