Women's Basketball Set for Rhode Island on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Brown women's basketball team will head to Kingston to take on in-state rival, University of Rhode Island Rams at the Ryan Center on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.Â
The game will be televised locally on MeTV, and can also be streamed on ESPN+.

Scouting the Bears (2-3)
- Last time out, the Bears put up a 104-47 win over Johnson and Wales University.
- Brown last posted 100 points on Dec. 10, 2022 against Mitchell College, beating them 101-45.
- Senior center Gianna Aiello earned her second double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds against the Wildcats. Her first came against Monmouth on Nov. 9 with 23 points and 14 rebounds.
- Junior guard Mackenzie Leahy led the team in points, collecting 18 against Johnson and Wales.
- First-year Aima Ofunrein continued to impress with 13 points and six rebounds.Â
- The Rams earned their third win of the season against UMass Lowell on Nov. 20, with a final score of 81-35.
- Sophie Phillips led the team in scoring with 14 points against the River Hawks. Ayanna Franks followed with 13 points.
- Harsimran Kaur leads the team with 60 points this season, averaging 10 points per game.
- Tenin Magassa is ranked second in blocked shots in the A10. Mayé Touré is ranked sixth in rebounding.
- The Bears and Rams will meet for the 42nd time in program history on Saturday.
- Brown has a 14-27 record against Rhode Island, dating back to the 1974-75 season.
