Cross Country Competes at Ivy League Heps

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Brown Bears Cross Country teams raced at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2. Eight teams competed in the men's and women's races. The women's side earned a fifth-place finish, scoring 136 points, while the men's side finished in eighth, scoring 257 points.
Olivia Fraga led the way for the women, earning 17th place with a time of 20:51.5. Nimrit Ahuja was next, finishing 24th overall with a time of 21:01.1. Morgan Boonshaft (25th/21:02.5), Emily Mrakovcic (36th/21:17.6) and Maxine Montoya (38th/21:18.8) were the final three scorers for the Bears.
Isolde McManus (48th/21:34.0), Scarlet Stimson (54th/21:46.1), Julia Schriefer (63rd/21:56.8), Lillian Kaelber (70th/22:16.4) and Sarah Paul (71st/22:16.9) rounded out the finishers for the women.
For the men's side, Justin Hickey led the Bears with a 64th place finish and a time of 24:56.0. Matthew Doherty was next, finishing in 68th with a time of 25:02.6. Colin Fisher (71st/25:09.4), Tommy Gaffey (76th/25:25.7) and John Farrell (78th/25:29.2) rounded out the scoring.
Nick Strayer (83rd/25:49.0), Sebastian Margetts (87th/26:04.6), Kit Jackson (88th/26:10.7), Luke Bodden (90th/26:22.4), John Ryan (91st/26:26.2), Sam Colton (92nd/26:32.3) and Jason Markopoulos (93rd/26:52.0) were the final finishers for the men.
The Bears will now look ahead to the NCAA northeast regional championships in two weeks on Friday, Nov. 15.
