PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Rothman Coaching Chair for Men's Lacrosse Jon Torpey has announced the five captains ahead of the 2025 season. The captains are two fifth-year students, Kevin Sweeney and Mark Witt, one senior – Tyler Blackburn, and a pair of juniors – Charlie Cave and Marcus Wertheim.
"In our brief time here at Brown it has become very clear to our staff that these five young men are exceptional people, workers and leaders," said Torpey. "We are beyond excited to have Tyler, Mark, Marcus, Kevin and Charlie leading the team into the 2025 season."
Sweeney returns for a fifth season with 41 career games played. The short stick midfielder tallied two goals and three points in 2024.
Witt, a captain in 2024, returns for a fifth season after picking up Honorable Mention All-Ivy honors in each of the last two seasons. The Andover, Massachusetts native has played in 35 career games and tallied his first career goal a season ago against Bryant.
