Men's Water Polo Takes Down #15 Fordham and Bucknell

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's water polo (3-1) earned two wins on Sunday at the Bruno Classic, beating Bucknell, 12-6, to start the day and #15 Fordham, 18-13, to close out the night.
Brown 12, Bucknell 6
Brown began the day with a six-goal win over Bucknell. Gabe Chang led Brown with three goals, while Ramzi Megalli, Thomas Hoffmeister and Goran Narancic each had two.
The game was tied at four after the first quarter but Brown took control over the next two quarters. Goals from Megalli, Hoffmeister and Ilias Stothart put Brown up 7-5 at halftime.
Narancic scored twice and Chang and Jaxson Tierney each scored in the third quarter as Brown outscored Bucknell 4-0.
Brown 18, Fordham 13
After falling behind 6-1 after the first quarter, Brown responded in a big way, outscoring Fordham 17-7 over the final three periods of play. Ilias Stothart led Brown with five goals, followed by Máté Tymcyna with four. Jaxson Tierney netted three and Gabe Chang and Mac Berry each had two.
Joe Gallagher had a stellar day in goal with 11 saves.
The Bears tied the game up in the second quarter with two goals by Mac Berry and one each from Chang, Tierney and Tymcyna.
Brown fell behind by two to start the third but Stothart and Tymcyna tied up the game with goals. After another Fordham goal, Chang, Tymcyna and Nick Berry all found the back of the net as Brown went up 11-10 after three quarters.
Back-to-back goals from Stothart and another from Tymcyna gave Brown a four-goal lead. Stothart added two more goals, while Thomas Hoffmeister and Tierney each scored to end any chance of a comeback from Fordham.

Brown will play one more game in the Bruno Classic, facing off against #5 Pacific on Monday at 11:30 a.m.
