
Coed Team Wins Sherman Hoyt Trophy at Home

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Brown sailing teams competed in three events this weekend, and placed in two of them.
The coed sailing team placed first out of 18 teams winning both divisions, and earning them the Sherman Hoyt Trophy at home. The Bears had a 21 point advantage over second place Harvard. Connor Nelson, Vera Allen, Helen Horangic, Liam O'Keefe, Savannah Young, and Camren Spriggs were on the winning team.
The Bears also had three teams that participated in the Hood Trophy race. Leyton Borcherding, Caroline Keeffe-Jones, Martin Atilla, and Catherine Morrissette finished third out of 20 teams. Connor Macken, Janelle Li, Kaitlyn Hamilton, and Corinne Harrison tied with Tufts University for 14th. Sidney Moyer, Sierra Bornheim, Laura Hamilton, and Talia Levine came in 16th place.
Brown had two teams that competed at the Mrs. Hurst Bowl. The team of Katharine Doble, Katherine Majette, Charlotte Costikyan, and Menasha Leport came in sixth. Brielle Willoughby, Lily Shore, Katherine McNamara, and Francesca Edmands came in 10th place.Â
