
Sailing Completes Weekend of Events

KINGSTON, R.I.- The Brown sailing teams competed at five different events over the course of the weekend.Â
The coed team took second place out of 16 teams for the Moody Trophy at the University of Rhode Island. Leyton Borcherding, Mensha Leport, Mason Stang, and Catherine Morrissette made up the team. Roger Williams University beat Brown and took first place at the event.
The team of Connor Nelson, Vera Allen, Caroline Keeffe-Jones, Guthrie Braun, and Emily Mueller placed fourth of 20 for the Danmark Trophy at the Coast Guard Academy. The teams that competed in this event were among the top teams in college sailing.
Brown had four teams compete at the Yale Fall Invitational this weekend. All four teams placed third through sixth of 13 boats. The team of Blake Behrens and Katherine Majette placed third, Martin Atilla and Talia Levine followed in fourth place, Connor Macken and Sierra Bornheim came in fifth, and Laura Hamilton and Janelle Li finished in sixth of 13.
Wrapping up the weekend, the women's team competed at the Women's ACC Qualifier at the U.S. Naval Academy. The team of Brielle Willoughby, Lily Shore, Katharine Doble, Katherine McNamara, Brianna Ross and Savannah Young finished in seventh place out of 17 boats. This allowed the team to qualify for the Atlantic Coast Championships at Yale.Â
