Men's Water Polo Hosts Mercyhurst and MIT on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's water polo is back in the pool this Saturday with home games against Mercyhurst and MIT. The game against Mercyhurst begins at 11 a.m. and the MIT game will start at 6:30 p.m.
Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.

SCOUTING BROWN
- Brown began its season with a 3-2 performance at the Bruno Classic, narrowly missing an upset over #6 Pacific, falling 13-12 in their last game. The Bears had a three-game trip to California cancelled last weekend due to travel issues.
- The Bears are tied for 15th in the latest poll from the College Water Polo Association (CWPA).
- Brown will face off against Mercyhurst and MIT in their final tune-up before starting conference play the last weekend of September.
- Gabe Chang leads the Bears in scoring with 14 goals on the season, followed by Ilias Stothart and Máté Tymcyna with 10.
- Kole Newman has stopped a team-high 25 shots this season with Joe Gallagher second on the team with 14.
- Brown last played Mercyhurst in 2021, winning that matchup 16-8.
- Brown and MIT met three times last season with the Bears winning all three matchups.
- Mercyhurst is 1-8 on the season and has lost four-straight games since beating Washington and Jefferson.
- Owen Hardner leads the team with 10 goals and Asher Jones is second on the team with eight.
- Tony Golin is the top goalkeeper for the Lakers with 60 saves.
- MIT is 5-1 on the year and has won five-straight games since losing to Wagner by one goal in the first game of the season.
- Adam Ivatorov leads the team in scoring with 22 goals and Matthew Pryce (13) and Bo Tingal (12) also have double-digit goals.
- Colin Weaver leads the team with 62 saves.
