
Brown Places at Three Events This Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown sailing teams competed at five events over the weekend, placing in three of them.
At the NEISA Women's Singlehanded Championship, Katharine Doble came in first place. This win will send Doble to the ICSA Women's Singlehanded National Championship in November at Tulane University in New Orleans. Kaitlyn Hamilton followed closely coming in second place. Sidney Moyer came in fourth out of the 10 boats that sailed.
The Bears had two teams competing at Harvard for the Women's Regis Trophy. Emily Mueller, Francesca Edmands, Katherine McNamara, and Brianna Ross were part of the Bears team that took second place. Brielle Willoughby, Lily Shore, Charlotte Costikyan, and Emily Miller were on the second boat that took fourth place.
Guthrie Braun placed third out of the 35 boat fleet at the NEISA Singlehanded Championship for the Monotype Trophy. Leyton Borcherding came in fifth, Connor Nelson came in eighth, and Martins Atilla came in 14th.
The Bears that represented Brown at the Hatch Brown Trophy were Liam O'Keefe, Savannah Young, Mason Stang, Helen Horangic, Catherine Morisette, Blake Behrens, and Caroline Keeffe-Jones. They placed 12th out of 18 boats.
To wrap up the busy weekend, Brown had three boats sail at the Yale Invitational. The duo of Laura Hamilton and Katherine Majette placed fifth. Camren Spriggs and Corinne Harrison came in sixth, with Connor Macken and Janelle Li finishing in 12th.
