Field Hockey Heads to Ohio to Take on Longwood, Miami

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (2-1, 0-0 Ivy League) head to Oxford, Ohio to compete in the Lil Fesperman Invitational, hosted by the Miami University RedHawks, against a pair of teams.
Brown takes on Longwood on Saturday (Sept. 16) before taking on host Miami on Sunday (Sept. 17). Saturday's game is scheduled to begin at noon with Sunday's game starting at 11 a.m. Both games will stream on the RedHawks' YouTube page.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters the weekend with a 2-1 overall record after most recently falling to Northeastern, 3-2. Brown's road game at Providence College was postponed due to inclement weather.
- Six different Bears have found the back of the net and three different Bears have an assist through three games. Imogen Govan and Lindsey Ross lead the Bears with three points apiece.
- Kylee Del Monte has started all three games in goal for Brown and holds a 1.34 goals against average and .714 save percentage.
- Del Monte's goals against average leads the Ivy League through the first two weeks of the season.
- Longwood enters the weekend a 2-4 overall record. The Lancers opened with a 2-1 overtime win over Richmond before losing four straight games. Most recently, the Lancers took a 5-1 win over Queens.
- Luna Prieri leads the Lancers with four goals and nine points through six games. She scored both goals in the win over Richmond and added a goal and assist against Queens.
- Santia McLaughlin started the first five games in goal for Longwood and hold a 3.68 goals against average and .652 save percentage. Lara Van Nunen started against Queens and holds a 3.89 goals against and .682 save percentage in 108 minutes of work.
- Saturday marks the first-ever meeting between Brown and Longwood.
- Miami enters the weekend with a 4-2 overall record with wins over Cal, UC Davis, Saint Francis, and American. The RedHawks dropped close matches to Indiana and Maryland.
- Carlie Servis and Claudia Negrete Garcia lead the RedHawks with three goals apiece through six games.
- Isabelle Perese has started all six games in goal for Miami and holds a 1.37 goals against average and .771 save percentage. She recorded a six-save shutout against Cal to open the season.
- Sunday marks the third meeting between the Bears and RedHawks in series history.
- Miami won the first meeting in Iowa in 2010 before Brown took down the 24th-ranked RedHawks in overtime last season in Providence.
