Women's Soccer Heads to CCSU Sunday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's soccer team will hit the road for the first time this season this Sunday, Aug. 27 at 2 p.m. to take on Central Connecticut State.
The game will be broadcast live on NEC Front Row.

Scouting the Bears (1-0)
- Brown opened its season on Friday with a convincing 6-0 win over UAlbany at home. Five different players scored for the Bears as they outshot the Greats Danes 31-4.
- Layla Shell and Joy Okonye shined in their debuts for the Bears. Shell scored twice and Okonye picked up two assists.
- In total, 28 different players saw minutes for the Bears in their season opener, ensuring the team will have fresh legs for their second game of the weekend against CCSU.
- CCSU has started its season at 1-1, beating Siena 3-0 to start the campaign before dropping a 2-1 decision to Seton Hall.
- Giavanna Inzerillo has led the Blue Devils through two games, scoring twice.
- Caitlin Murphy has started both games in goal, making eight saves for a .800 save percentage.
- Brown is 4-0-1 all-time against CCSU.
- Last year, Naya Cardoza scored the game-winner in the fourth minute of action to help the Bears secure the 1-0 win at home. Brown outshot CCSU 22-5.
