PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Kate Kovenock, Mary Ann Lippitt Women's Swimming and Diving Coaching Chair, has announced the signing of transfer Lily Klinginsmith for the Brown Women's Swimming program. Klinginsmith joins Brown after one season at Tufts where she took home three NCAA DII National Championships.
Klinginsmith, a native of Moreland Hills, Ohio, won championships in the 100 freestyle, 100 butterfly and the 400 freestyle relay.Â
"I'm thrilled to welcome Lily to our team this fall. From our first conversation on, it became clear to me that she is the type of individual who wasn't just going to connect with our team and training style but with the University as a whole," said Kovenock. "Over the last two years, Lily has really started to come into her own with our sport and I've been so impressed with her ability to capitalize on opportunities as they have presented themselves. She's a determined competitor and a thoughtful student of the sport, both characteristics will serve Lily well here on College Hill."Â
"When it came to choosing Brown, the decision was easy for me," said Klinginsmith. "The team is supportive and welcoming. I immediately felt a sense of home and comfort when I came to visit. Additionally, the coaching staff was both considerate and patient with me throughout the transfer process. I knew as soon as I visited that I would be thrilled to represent Brown University Athletics. Go Bruno!"Â Â
