
Gymnastics Set to Compete for National Title this Week at USAGs

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's gymnastics team will compete for a national title this weekend at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships, hosted by Texas Women's University in Denton.
The championship semifinals will kick things off on Thursday afternoon with two sessions, with the Bears competing in Session One starting at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Joining the Bears in the afternoon session will be Lindenwood, Air Force and Southern Connecticut State.
The top two teams in each session will advance in the bracket to compete for a national championship on Friday night at 8 p.m. ET.
Individually, gymnasts will also be competing for a spot in the individual finals on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. ET. Individuals who place in the top five of each apparatus in each session during Thursday's semifinals will qualify for Saturday's finals to compete for individual national championships and USAG All-America honors.

ABOUT BROWN
- Overall, Brown is making its eighth appearance at USAG Nationals this season (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022, 2023).
- Last season, Brown qualified for the team finals at USAG Nationals for the third time in program history (2013, 2016, 2022).
- The Bears enter nationals with the highest National Qualifying Score in program history at 194.315, surpassing the previous benchmark set last year (193.695). Their current ranking of 59th is tied with 2022 as the highest placement in school history and currently ranks second in the GEC.
- Brown captured its fifth Ivy League/Ivy Classic title this season (1990, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2023).
- After finishing runner-up in 2022 at the inaugural GEC Championships with a school- record 195.975 points, Brown entered the meet as the No. 2 seed this season and finished fourth at the championships.
- At this year's GEC Championships, sophomore Julia Bedell broke the school's record on floor with a 9.950, surpassing the previous record (9.925) which she held with Olympian Alicia Sacramone, Caroline Morant and Danielle Hoffman. Click here for full records list.
