Men's Lacrosse Hosts #6 Cornell Saturday on Senior Day

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown returns to Stevenson-Pincince Field for the final regular season home game of the season on Saturday (Apr. 22), taking on the sixth-ranked Cornell Big Red (9-2, 3-1 Ivy League) in a critical conference matchup.
Saturday's game will broadcast locally on NESN. Fans outside New England can stream the game on ESPN+.

FAN ZONE
- In conjunction with the women's lacrosse game at 3:30 p.m., Brown Athletics encourages all fans to wear white to White Out Stevenson-Pincince Field. The first 200 students at each game will receive a free Brown Athletics t-shirt.
- Fans can explore the new offerings from Brown Dining's food truck – Bruno Eats – as it makes its Athletics debut at the lacrosse doubleheader.
- Brown Athletics will honor the 1973 and the 2022 teams at halftime. The 1973 squad finished a perfect 6-0 in Ivy League play and earned the program's first NCAA Tournament berth. The 2022 squad captured a share of the Ivy League title and earned the program's 12th NCAA Tournament berth.
- Brown men's lacrosse will honor its 11-member senior class at the conclusion of the game against the Big Red.
- Brown enters the weekend with a 5-6 overall record and 1-3 Ivy League mark. The Bears need a win over Cornell to keep their postseason hopes alive.
- Brown averages 12.64 goals per game to rank fifth in the conference and 29th in the NCAA. Senior Devon McLane leads the team with 38 points and 16 assists. He ranks second on the team with 22 goals, trailing sophomore Aidan McLane (27).
- Brown's man-up offense enters the weekend with 12 goals in 37 attempts (.324) to rank fifth in the Ivy and 46th in the nation. Devon has five man-up goals to lead the team.
- Bruno's .885 clear percentage enters the weekend fourth in the Ivy League and 22nd nationally.
- Defensively, Brown allows 12.82 goals per game to rank fifth in the conference and 53rd in the country. Goalie Connor Theriault has started all 11 games between the pipes and holds a .519 save percentage and 12.86 goals against average.
- Brown's man-down defense ranks third in the conference and 44th in the nation at .621 (18-for-29).
- Senior Matthew Gunty leads the Ivy League and ranks third in the nation with a .636 win-rate at the faceoff X. Gunty's 6.70 ground balls per game rank second in the conference.
- Cornell enters the weekend with a 9-2 overall record and 3-1 Ivy League mark.
- The Big Red enter the weekend ranked sixth in the nation per the USILA Coaches Poll.
- As a team, Cornell averages 14.82 goals per game to rank second in the Ivy League and ninth in the NCAA.
- CJ Kirst leads Cornell offensively with 49 goals and 62 points. He leads the nation with 4.45 goals per game and ranks second in the nation with 5.64 points per game.
- Billy Coyle leads the team with 23 assists and ranks second on the team with 45 points. Coyle's 4.00 points per game is tied for sixth in the Ivy League and 34th in the NCAA. His 2.00 assists per game rank third in the conference and tied for 20th in the NCAA.
- Cornell's man-up offense has 10 goals in 23 attempts (.435) to rank third in the conference and 27th in the nation.
- The Big Red clear the ball at a .914 rate to lead the conference and rank fourth in the country.
- Defensively, Cornell allows 10.00 goals per game to lead the conference and tie for tenth nationally.
- Chayse Ierlan has started all 11 games between the pipes and holds a .573 save percentage and 9.86 goals against average. His save percentage ranks third in the nation and his goals against average ranks ninth.
- Cornell's man-down defense clicks at .625 (15-24) to rank second in the conference.
- Freshman Jack Cascadden leads the Big Red with a .573 win-rate at the faceoff X (71-124). He averages 4.00 ground balls per game. Senior Angelo Petrakis holds a .490 win-rate (50-102) with 24 ground balls.
- Saturday marks the 62nd meeting between the Bears and Big Red in a series dating back to 1964.
- Brown holds a 22-39 all-time series record against Cornell and a 13-17 home record.
- Gunty returned from injury with another strong effort against Princeton (Apr. 1) - finishing 21-for-32 (.656) with eight ground balls.
- He followed with a 13-for-24 (.542) performance against Penn (Apr. 8), notably scoring his second goal of the season late in the fourth quarter to give Brown an 11-10 lead.
