Women's Sailing Takes Third at NEISA Team Race Championship

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's sailing team finished is third place out of 10 teams at the NEISA Women's Team Race Championship. The coed team finished in seventh and 10th out of 15 teams at the Oberg Trophy.
At the NEISA Women's Team Race, the Bears finished with an 11-6 record, just one win shy of second place. Brielle Willoughby, Blaire McCarthy, Caroline Bayless, Emi Ruth, Savannah Young, and Helen Horangic sailed for Brown.
On the coed side, a pair of Brown teams finished in seventh and 10th at the Oberg Trophy. For the seventh place team, Jed Bell and Menasha Leport competed in Division A, Hunter Zonnenberg and Caroline Keeffe-Jones in Division B, and William George and Hannah Sellers were in Division C. For the team that took 10th, Tommy Styron, Mason Stang, and Catherine Morrissette were in Division A, Charlotte Costikyan, Connor Macken, Sierra Bornheim, and Talia Levine sailed in B, while Katharine Doble and Janelle Li were in C.
The coed team was also scheduled to compete at the Thompson Team Race at Coast Guard, but the event was ruled incomplete due to the lack of wind.
Selections for both the Open and Women's Team Race National Championships will be announced this Tuesday, April 18 at 7 p.m. Brown's coed team is currently ranked sixth in the nation, while the women's team is ranked third.
