PROVIDENCE, R.I. – On a weekend full of action, the Brown coed sailing team claimed first at the Admirals Cup, as well as a pair of other top finishes, while the women's team came in sixth at the NEISA Women's Championship.
The Bears came away with the win at the Admirals Cup, held at the same location as coed nationals at the end of May. Connor Nelson, Isabel Cox, and Nora Ong sailed in Division A, while Liam O'Keefe, Ong, Francesca Edmands, and Lily Shore picked up the win in Division B. The event featured many of the same teams the Bears will take on at nationals.
The women's team finished sixth at the NEISA Women's Championship, in large part thanks to a strong showing in Division B by Caroline Bayless and Helen Horangic, taking second place. Blaire McCarthy, Brielle Willoughby, Savannah Young, and Emi Ruth sailed in Division A.
A pair of Brown teams claimed second and third at the George Morris Trophy. Tommy Styron, Catherine Morrissette, Katherine McNamara, and Brianna Ross were on the team that finished second, while Mason Stang, Talia Levine, Sierra Bornheim, Emily Mueller, Katharine Doble, and Janelle Li combined to take third.
The final event of the weekend was the Boston Dinghy Challenge Cup and saw the Bears claim seventh. Hunter Zonnenberg, Caroline Keeffe-Jones, Jed Bell, Menasha Leport, William George, and Hannah Sellers competed for Brown.
