ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Brown women's water polo picked up a 14-10 win over Bucknell to close out its weekend at Michigan.
The Bears were led by three goals from both Zoe King and Madeleine Poissonnier. Lily Weiser and Sophie Golub each finished with two goals.
Brown started the game with goals from Bryn Gioffredi and Sierra Martin but allowed four-straight goals to trail 4-2 after one quarter. Back-to-back goals from King and one from Poissonnier put Brown back on top 5-4 halfway through quarter two. Poissonnier tallied one more goal and Golub had two goals on either side of halftime to put Brown up 8-6.
Claire Poissonnier and Claire Pisani found the back of the net in the third quarter as Brown stretched its lead to 10-6. Bucknell would pull within twice multiple times but Brown had an answer each time.
Madeleine Poissonnier scored to make it 11-8 and Weiser added two goals to put the Bears up 13-10. King tallied a goal with two seconds on the clock for the final margin.
UP NEXT
Brown will return home for two games on Saturday to close out the regular season. The Bears will face Harvard and St. Francis Brooklyn.
