Women's Water Polo Takes down Harvard in Overtime Win

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The No. 21 Brown women's water polo earned a big overtime win over No. 16 Harvard and closed out the day with a win over Saint Francis Brooklyn. The two wins give Brown 25 wins this season, matching the program record set last season.
GAME 1: Brown 12, Harvard 11 – F/OT
Brown came back from an 8-4 deficit in the second half to earn an overtime win over No. 16 Harvard to start the day.
Zoe King led Brown with four goals, while Claire Pisani and Lily Weiser each had two. Claire Poissonnier, Alexandra Love, Ella Palmer and Madeleine Poissonnier all scored one goal for the Bears.
Brown got two goals from King and one from Pisani in the first quarter but the Bears trailed 4-3 after one quarter.
Harvard scored three goals to open up a 7-3 lead until Palmer scored right before halftime, making it 7-4 at the break.
Weiser, Pisani and King all scored in the third quarter and Brown pulled within at 8-7 heading into the fourth quarter.
Two goals from Harvard made the score 10-7 with 3:41 led in the game. Love scored with 3:32 to make it 10-8 but Harvard added another goal with 2:26 on the clock. Wieser scored with 1:34 on the clock and 11 seconds later Claire Poissonnier pulled Brown within one. With 10 seconds left on the clock, King found the back of the net to send the game to overtime.
No one scored in overtime until Brown got the ball with less than 30 seconds on the clock. Weiser fired one that was tipped by Madeleine Poissonnier and found the top corner of the goal for the game-winning tally.
GAME 2: Brown 12, Saint Francis Brooklyn 6
Brown closed out its regular season with a 12-6 win over Saint Francis Brooklyn on Saturday night. Zoe King and Madeleine Poissonnier each scored three goals for the Bears in the win. Lily Weiser, Claire Pisani and Sierra Martin each had two goals.
Brown scored three goals in each of the four quarters, using a 4-0 run in the middle of the game to take control.
Brown's first period goals came from Pisani, Martin and Poissonnier and the Bears led 3-2 after one quarter.
The Bears won the second quarter 3-2 with another goal from Pisani and two from Poissonnier.
Brown took a 9-6 lead after three quarters as King scored twice and Weiser tallied a goal in the third.
The final three goals of the game came from Weiser, King and Martin.

Brown will play an exhibition against the Puerto Rico Senior National Team on Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m.
