Wrestling Set for 2023 EIWA Championships

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Brown wrestling is ready for the 119th EIWA Championships, which take place on Saturday and Sunday at the Palestra in Philadelphia.
The Bears will compete for the 45 automatic qualifications to the NCAA Tournament, which takes place in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 16-18. The top six at 125 and 285 pounds will automatically qualify for NCAAs, while to earn a spot at 133, 141, 165 or 197, a wrestler will have to finish fifth or higher. The top four spots at 174 and 184 pounds will automatically qualify and only the top three at 157 pounds will advance through the qualification process, with just the finalists clinching bids at 149.

Sophomore Hunter Adrian, who is making his first appearance at EIWA's is the top seeded Bear heading into the weekend at eighth at 133 pounds. Sophomores Keegan Rothrock (165), Drew Clearie (174) and James Araneo (184) are making their second appearance at the tournament, while the rest of the field for Brown will be first-time wrestlers.
