Brown was tabbed sixth in the Ivy League Preseason Poll, and returns its top five hitters and top three starting pitchers from last season. Brown welcomes back all three of its All-Ivy honorees as well in starting pitcher Tobey McDonough (First team), first baseman Ryan Marra (Second Team) and reliever Paxton Meyers (Honorable Mention).
SCOUTING NEW ORLEANS (4-4)
The Privateers are coming off a strong 6-5 win over Tulane on the road on Wednesday evening. UNO defeated Florida A&M (12-0) and Alabama State (18-7) at the Andre Dawson Classic last weekend, and opened up the season two weeks ago by dropping two out of three at Kennesaw State.
Junior infielder Tyler Bischke is the team's leading hitter through eight games with a .335 average. He is tied for the team lead with two homers, six RBIs and seven walks. Catcher Miguel Useche, who delivered the game-winning single in the ninth inning at Tulane on Wednesday, is hitting .357 with a .441 on-base percentage.
