No. 25 Women’s Water Polo Splits Final Day of Bruno Classic

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – No. 25 Brown women's water polo (5-1) began the 2023 campaign with five consecutive victories for the second time in three seasons, dominating in a morning victory on Sunday in the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. The Bears defeated Austin College 14-5 and nearly rallied in an 8-6 setback to No. 14 (T) Wagner.
NO. 25 BROWN DEFEATED AUSTIN COLLEGE 14-5
The first half was all Brown with all seven goals scored by the Bears. The lead was extended to 10-0. Tallulah Clancy scored three goals, two in the third period, and overall, 10 Bears scored.
Roxanne Hazuka recorded five saves and Audrey Gallagher registered two.
NO. 14 WAGNER DEFEATED NO. 25 BROWN 8-6
Shauna Franke made 12 saves in the finale and Zoe King scored two goals. Madeleine Poissonnier finished with two steals and Sophie Golub picked up two blocks.
NEXT UP
Brown will return to action in California on February 18-19 versus Santa Clara, Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal State East Bay and San Jose State.
