
Women's Water Polo Earns Two More Wins to Finish Weekend at Santa Clara

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Brown women's water polo continued its winning ways with two victories on Sunday to close out the Bronco Invitational.
Brown 11, Cal State East Bay 10
Brown picked up a last second goal by Madeleine Poissonnier to earn a one-goal victory over Cal State East Bay to start the day.
The Bears were led by three goals from Zoe King and two goals from Sierra Martin. Six other Bears also found the net against the Pioneers.
After giving up the first goal of the game Brown got goals from Claire Pisani, Emily Suong and Martin to go up 3-1 after the first quarter.
The Bears took at 4-1 lead early in the second with a goal by Alexandra Love but did not score the rest of the quarter and took a 4-3 lead into the second half.
Martin and King pushed Brown's lead to 6-3 and Lily Weiser's goal made it 7-4 but Brown gave up three-straight goals as the game tied 7-7 less than a minute into the fourth. King put the Bears back on top but two goals from the Pioneers put Brown down one.
King and Ella Palmer put the Bears back on top 10-9 with 30 seconds left but East Bay scored with three seconds left to tie the game. Poissonnier scored as time expired to give Brown the win.
Roxanne Hazuka had three goals in net for the Bears.
Brown 10, #19 San Jose State 7
A big third quarter gave Brown a 10-7 lead over San Jose State as Brown finished off a perfect 4-0 weekend.
Claire Poissonnier scored three goals while Lily Weiser, Zoe King and Sierra Martin all had two goals.
Claire Pisani scored the first goal of the game but San Jose State led 2-1 after the first. Poissonnier scored to start the second and after a goal by the Spartans, Weiser scored with just over a minute left in the half to make it 3-3 at the break.
King started the second half with a goal, followed by Wesier scoring to put Brown up 5-3. King continued the run for Brown with a penalty shot goal making it 6-3. Martin scored with 44 seconds left in the quarter to put Brown up 7-3 heading to the fourth.
San Jose State scored four goals in the final period but Brown held the Spartans at bay with three goals as Martin scored one and Poissonnier had two in the last eight minutes.

Brown will take on Princeton and Long Island next Sunday (Feb. 26) in Princeton.
