No. 19 Women's Water Polo Bests LIU, Falls at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – No. 19 Brown women's water polo split two games on Sunday, earning a 7-6 win over Long Island after falling to Princeton earlier in the day.
No. 13 Princeton 12, No. 19 Brown 6
Ella Palmer led the Bears with two goals in the game against the Tigers. Zoe King, Claire Pisani, Claire Poissonnier and Sophie Golub all finished with a goal.
Princeton took an early lead and Brown pulled within one twice but trailed 5-3 heading into the second half. The Bears pulled within three twice during the second half but Princeton used a 3-0 run late in the third quarter to take control of the game.
No. 19 Brown 7, Long Island 6
Both Alexandra Love and Zoe King scored twice in a comeback win for Brown over LIU. The Bears led 2-1 after first quarter goals from King and Love but Brown did not score in the second, trailing 5-2 at the break.
Brown was down 6-3 heading into the last quarter but the Bears kept LIU off the scoreboard and Brown tied the game with goals by Golub, King and Love. With 20 seconds left in the game, Poissonnier found the back of the net to give Brown the lead.
UP NEXT
Brown will take part in the Harvard Invitational next weekend with six games over three days. Brown will play its first three games on the road before hosting three games.
