Women's Basketball Hosts Princeton and Penn over Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's basketball returns home for two games over the weekend. The Bears will play host to Princeton on Friday (Feb. 15), before taking on Penn on Saturday (Feb. 16) to close out the weekend.
The game on Friday against the Tigers is set for a 7 p.m. tip-off. The matchup against Penn will tip at 5 p.m. The game against Princeton will be streamed on ESPN+ with the game against Penn being streamed on ESPN3.
ABOUT BROWN
- Brown sits in sixth place in the Ivy League with a 10-12 record and 3-7 mark in league play. The Bears are coming off a win over Cornell in Ithaca last weekend.
- Brown beat Cornell 76-48 last time on the court. The 28-point win for the Bears was the largest win in Ivy League play since 1995 when the Bears beat Columbia by 35.
- The Bears had one of their best shooting days of the season against Cornell, hitting 50 percent of their shots from the floor and 50 percent from three. The 50 percent field goal percentage was the highest in Ivy league play and tied for the third-best this season. The 50 percent three-point percentage was the best mark this season and the best since shooting 57 percent (13-for-23) against Princeton on Feb. 9, 2019.
- On the defensive end, Brown had a 19-6 advantage after the first quarter and won the fourth quarter by a score of 27-3. It was the second time this Ivy League season that Brown has held a team to a three-point fourth quarter, the first being against Dartmouth in Hanover on Jan. 7.
- Brown held Cornell to 0-for-20 shooting from three-point range. It was the first time since Dec. 12, 2019 against Fairfield that Brown did not allow a made three. The Stags were 0-for-13 in that game. The 20 attempts by Cornell with no made threes are the most for a Brown opponent in the last 12 seasons.
- Isabella Mauricio led the way for Brown from deep with the sophomore going 6-for-8 from three-point land. Mauricio scored a team-high 22 points and had 19 of her points in the first half.
- Mauricio has now scored 20+ points in three of her last four games and has scored in double-figures in each of her last six games.
- Kyla Jones was second on the team against the Big Red with 20 points, scoring 14 points in the second half.
- Jones leads the team with 16.6 points per game (fourth in the Ivy League) and has scored in double-figures a team-high 14 times, including three-straight and eight of her last nine. Jones has reached the 20-point mark six times and the 30-point mark twice.
- Ada Anamekwe has taken advantage of moving into the starting lineup having collected at least seven rebounds in each of her last five games. Anamekwe has a 12-rebound performance against Harvard and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the way at Cornell. The freshman from Parker, Texas has picked up a steal in each of her last eight games, including three games with three steals.

- Princeton comes to College Hill riding a nine-game win streak and is coming off a 64-47 win over Dartmouth last Saturday.
- The Tigers boast the best scoring defense in the league, holding opponents to 54.4 points per game.
- Kaitlyn Chen is the top scorer for Princeton at 14.1 points per game and is leading the team with 97 assists. Julia Cunningham is second on the team with 11.2 points per game.
- Ellie Mitchell leads the Tigers with 10.9 rebounds per contest.
- Princeton won the first matchup with Brown 67-54, using a 23-15 advantage in the third quarter to take control of the game.

- Penn is 7-3 in league play and 15-8 overall entering the weekend. The Quakers will take on Yale before playing Brown on Saturday.

- The Quakers are second in scoring defense at 58.7 points per game and are holding opponents to a league-low 36.1 field goal percentage.
- Kayla Padilla is averaging 16.8 points per game and leads the team with 84 assists on the year.
- Jordan Obi is scoring 13.2 points per game and pulling down 7.1 rebounds per contest, both second-best on the team.
- Penn jumped out to a 25-4 first quarter advantage in the first meeting this season in what was a 74-53 win over Brown.
