Women's Soccer Falls to Columbia in Overtime in Ivy League Semifinals

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Top-seeded Brown women's soccer fell in overtime to fourth-seeded Columbia, 2-1, in the semifinals of the Ivy League tournament on Friday at Stevenson-Pincince Field.
Senior Brittany Raphino netted her career-high 12th goal of the season in the 40th minute to become the second player in program history to reach 100-career points.
Scoring for Columbia were seniors Kat Jordan and Shira Cohen. The Bears, who were ranked No. 5 in the NCAA RPI, drop to 11-2-2 overall, while the Lions, who checked in at No. 25 in the RPI improve to 10-3-3.
Both teams had opportunities in the first half. Brown broke through in the 40th minute when Raphino fired a shot from just beyond the 18-yard box past the diving keeper to make it a 1-0 Bears lead.
Columbia evened the score quickly in the second half. Jordan scored with an assist from junior Marcia Ojo to even the score in the 54th minute and force overtime.
The Lions sent home the game winner in the 100th minute of overtime on a goal by Cohen from senior Madi Pilla.
Brown will await their NCAA tournament matchup, which will be announced during the selection show on Monday.
