SCOUTING BROWN
- Brown is coming off a comeback win at Loyola Chicago last Wednesday, beating the Ramblers 56-49. The Bears overcame a 16-point deficit and used a 20-0 scoring run that spanned the third and fourth quarters to earn the win.
- The last time Brown had at least a 20-0 run in a game was at Cornell last season when the Bears used a 23-0 run against the Big Red.
- Kyla Jones showed out in her homecoming leading Brown with 20 points, her second 20-point game in her last three contests. Jones scored 18 points in the second half after getting into early foul trouble. Jones matched her career-high with eight free throws, going 8-for-8 from the charity stripe.
- Grace Arnolie collected 19 points in the win over Loyola Chicago. Arnolie also grabbed a career-high seven steals in the win.
- The Bears will be playing Monmouth for the second-straight season. Last year's match up in Providence came down to the wire with the Bears winning 70-69. Arnolie, who led Brown with 23 points in the win, was fouled on a three-point attempt with no time left on the clock. With the game tied, Arnolie missed her first two free throws before hitting the final one for the victory.
- Monmouth is 2-3 on the season, falling at Providence on Wednesday, 40-57. The Hawks have scored 74 points in each of their two wins this season against St. John's and UMass but is averaging less than 50 points in their three losses.
- Kaci Donovan is leading Monmouth with 11.2 points per game and Ariana Vanderhoop is second on the team with 10.4 points per game.
- Three-point shooting has been a big factor in winning or losing for Monmouth early this season. Monmouth has shot above 30 percent from deep in its two wins and has shot 17 percent or worse from three in its three losses.
