Field Hockey Suffers Overtime Setback Against Yale

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -Â Brown field hockey suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 overtime defeat to Yale at home on Wednesday afternoon at Goldberger Family Field.
The Bears drop to 4-5 and 0-3 in the Ivy League, while the Bulldogs improve to 4-7 and 1-2 in the conference.
Senior Imogen Govan secured her third goal of the season for Brown. Picking up goals for the Bulldogs were junior Lily Ramsey and sophomore Poppy Beales.
Brown finished with five shots on goal, compared to four for the Bulldogs. The Bears had two shots on goal in the first period and one in the third.
Yale broke the stalemate in the fourth quarter at the 47:25 mark when Ramsey went unassisted to make it 1-0.
Nine minutes later with the clock ticking down, Govan had a breakaway and went one-on-one with the goalie and buried the game-tying goal to force overtime.
Brown had an early shot on goal in OT, but Yale notched the winner 3:50 into the extra period.
The Bears are back in action on Friday at home against Princeton at 3 p.m.
