Men's Soccer Stays Unbeaten in Ivy Play at Princeton
10/21/2023 7:15:00 PM | Men's Soccer
PRINCETON, N.J. - Brown men's soccer played a gritty match at Princeton and finished in a scoreless draw Saturday afternoon.
The Bears (4-4-6, 1-0-4 Ivy) remain unbeaten in the Ivy League and have not lost in their last nine games with a 3-0-6 record, while the Tigers (4-6-2, 1-2-2 Ivy) have not won in three-straight matches.
Senior goalkeeper Hudson Blatteis finished with four saves for his fourth clean sheet in six starts.
Brown now has seven points and remains in the mix for the Ivy League tournament with two conference games left to play.
"Really proud of that performance today," said Chase Wileman, Friends of Brown Men's Soccer Head Coaching Chair. "It was a team effort to get another clean sheet, the guys worked incredibly hard. We do need more of a team effort to find a way to score a goal but we still look dangerous. All-in-all we keep getting results and we are hard to beat - which is a good sign. This team is a joy to coach and we look forward to training this week as we prepare for Dartmouth. We went for three points and we stuck together, proud of every member of the program. We keep going."
The Bears controlled the pace of the game for the first 20 minutes, creating chances to score and keeping the ball away from Princeton. Blatteis made saves in the 11th and 27 minutes. Sophomore Greyson Mitchell had a shot on goal 44th minute.
Brown had a multitude of opportunities in the second half. Freshman Lorenzo Amaral had quick shots on net in the 53rd and 54th minutes. Senior Kojo Dadzie and sophomore Jamin Gogo Peters each had shots on goal, and one went off the post. Blatteis came through with saves in the 63rd and 84th minutes.
Brown hosts Dartmouth at Stevenson-Pincince Field for senior night on Saturday at 7 p.m.
