
Bears downed by Harvard on Friday night

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A slow start once again doomed the Bears as Brown (7-7, 0-2 Ivy) lost at Harvard (9-5, 2-0 Ivy), 89-59, on Friday night (Jan. 6).
Kyla Jones finished the game leading the Bears with 13 points, her third-straight game in double figures. Ada Anamekwe was second on the team with 11 points. Both Jones and Anamekwe also led the team with four rebounds.
Maddie Mullin finished the game with eight points, hitting two threes. Lexi Love led the Bears with four assists in just ten minutes of play.
The Bears finished the game shooting 40 percent from the floor. Including hitting over 50 percent of their shots in the second half. Brown only managed to shoot eight percent in the first quarter.
Brown fell behind early, losing the first quarter 22-3, marking the second-straight game Brown has struggled on offense in the first 10 minutes. The Bears responded in the second quarter, keeping with the Crimson as Brown trailed 39-17 at the half. Jones scored nine points in the second quarter for Brown.
In the third quarter, a stretch of three-straight threes by Lola Mullaney made the score 66-31. Arnolie hit a buzzer-beating three to end the third as Brown trailed 66-34.
Anamekwe and Mullin did their damage in the final quarter with Anamekwe scoring 10 points and Mullin tallying eight.
Mullaney led the Crimson with 30 points, going 6-for-10 from the floor. Harvard finished the game with four players in double figures and shot 57 percent from the floor.

Brown will finish the weekend with a matchup at Dartmouth on Saturday (Jan. 7) beginning at 5 p.m.
