Volleyball travels to Bryant for midweek matchup

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown volleyball hits the road for the first time this season with a trip to Bryant on Tuesday night. The Bears will faceoff against the Bulldogs, starting at 7:30 p.m.

- Brown went 2-1 in the first weekend of the season with wins against Rhode Island and Siena. The Bears loss was a five-set defeat to Air Force.
- Sophia Miller has a strong weekend for the Bears, finishing the three matches with a team-high 3.75 kills per set and a .356 hitting percentage. Miller posted 22 kills against Air Force and had a 15 kill, 13 dig double-double against Siena.
- Jilienne Widener is second on the team with 2.92 kills per set and Kate Sheire is third on the squad with 2.33 kills per set.
- Kate Danaher guided the offense in both matches on Saturday, finishing the weekend with 90 assists for an average of 9.00 assists per set.
- On defense, Brown held their opponents to .133 hitting on the weekend. The Bears are averaging 14.50 digs per set, led by Victoria Vo with 4.17 per set.
- At the net, Gabby Derrick and Beau Vanderlaan lead the team with 11 blocks each.
- Bryant is 4-3 on the season and was 2-1 over the past weekend. The Bulldogs beat Harvard to start last weekend and earned a five-set win over Montana State before falling to Boston College.
- Bryant is hitting .195 as a team this year and is averaging 12.16 kills per set. Aubrey Lapour leads the team with 2.65 kills per set. Emma McGovern and Caroline Kennedy are also averaging over 2.00 kills per set.
- The Bulldogs are averaging 2.20 blocks per set with four players averaging at least one block per set, led by Maggie Ryan with 1.20 blocks per set.
- This will be the 21st meeting all-time between Brown and Bryant. Brown leads the all-time series 14-6 and won both matchups last season.
