Cross Country Heads to Franklin Park for Friday’s Battle in Beantown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown cross country teams will head to Franklin Park in Boston on Friday for their third weekend of competition this season to race in the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown on Friday, Sept. 23.
Hosted by Boston College, the meet will feature 24 teams in the women's 5K race at noon, and 21 schools in the men's 8K race at 12:30 p.m. Those races will be followed by the men's and women's open 5K race at 1:15 p.m.
Fellow Ivies Dartmouth, Harvard and Yale will also be in attendance. On the women's side, No. 20 Harvard and No. 23 Gonzaga will be joined by Syracuse and Penn State, both of whom are receiving votes in this week's USTFCCCA national rankings. Three ranked men's programs will be competing as well in No. 12 Harvard, No. 18 Gonzaga and No. 19 Syracuse.
Brown has nine entries for both the men's and women's featured races, with more scheduled to compete in the open race.
