Meyers Recognized as Ivy League Rookie of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Following a sensational performance on the mound on Sunday, Brown sophomore pitcher Paxton Meyers has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week.
Meyers' award is the first weekly honor from the Ivy League for Brown this season.
In Sunday's series finale against Princeton, Meyers tossed a career-high in innings for the second straight weekend, firing 6.0 innings of relief on 98 pitches to shut down Princeton's offense and earn the win as Brown rallied for an 11-9 victory to complete the weekend sweep.
Meyers entered the game with two outs in the third, with Brown down 8-0. He allowed just one (unearned) run on four hits with five strikeouts, pitching until there were two outs in the ninth. His efforts over the last three weekends have helped Brown's bullpen to not allow an earned run over its last 29.1 innings of work.
For the season, Meyers leads the Bears with 18 appearances and holds a 3.15 ERA with 38 strikeouts over 34.1 innings.
Junior first baseman Ryan Marra was also recognized this week by landing on the Ivy league Honor Roll after batting .556 and posting a .667 on-base percentage with seven RBIs and five runs scored, and two home runs, including a walk-off to win game two on Saturday.
Brown will close out the season with three games this weekend at home against Cornell, with Saturday serving as Senior Day.
