Women's Crew Ties For Team High Points at Ivy Championships

PENNSAUKEN, NJ - The Brown women's crew team tied Princeton and Yale for the team-high in points at the 2022 Ivy League Rowing Championships at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, NJ on Sunday.  Brown, Princeton and Yale all tallied 74 points from their respective finishes in the Varsity Eight, 2nd Varsity Eight, 3rd Varsity Eight, Varsity Four A, Varsity Four B and Varsity Four C. Penn, Harvard, Columbia, Dartmouth and Cornell rounded out the total team point standings on the day.Â
In the process, the Bears also had 5 rowers receive All-Ivy honors. (Highlighted below):

The Bears were the most consistent team in all races registering five second place finishes and one third place finish which could bode well for the upcoming NCAA Championships in Sarasota, FL where the Bears will be hoping to compete for the 8th NCAA team title in program history.
Brown's first varsity eight of Caroline Schmitz (8) , Dahlia Levine (7) , Hannah Yazdani (6) , Zoe Hasbrouk (5) , Limor Dubrovsky (4) , Olivia Vavasour (3) , Ellie Baker (2) , Beate Kaz (1) and Cox Maya Barnard placed second with a time of 06:13.730 and was edged out by Princeton by a mere :02.027.
"Always the goal is to win gold but we cannot overlook how hard and how well our crews raced today," said head coach John Murphy. "They faced some of the toughest competition in the country and they gave it their best. We hope to be selected to the 2022 NCAA Championship in Sarasota and if we are it will be the result of the year long effort of every member of our team."

It's back to the Marston Boat House and the waters of the Seekonk River for Brown as they prepare for the NCAA Championships which will take place May 27-29 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, FL. The NCAA Division 1 Selection Show will be held Tuesday, May 17 at 5pm ET and can be viewed on NCAA.com.
