Track and Field to Host Brown Springtime Invitational on Sunday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – In the final weekend of competition before the Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonal Championships, the Brown track and field programs will host their final regular season outdoor meet of the season this Sunday, May 1 at Richard Gouse Field at Brown Stadium.
Brown is coming off first place team finishes by both the men's and women's programs at last weekend's Mark Young Invitational at Yale. The women earned seven first place finishes, while the men earned six gold medals. Entering this week, Brown once again finds itself ranked in the top 25 nationally in five different event groups, including four on the men's side. The Bears continue to be ranked in the men's javelin (5th), triple jump (11th), long jump (18th), and have moved into the national top 25 this week in the high jump at No. 25. The women's triple jumpers also remain in the top 25 this week, coming in at No. 11 with an average triple jump of 49.15m (161'3).
